Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”
The Obshtnost S Ideal Student Club
Students learning from the best who came before us. Talks with interesting guests, the conversations that follow, and a community worth being part of.
Our purpose
Why the club exists
We want to understand what we have lost along the way and how to get it back.
The club is a place where students of every discipline listen, ask and argue about things that matter: our history, faith, family and our place in the world.
Behind us stands the Obshtnost S Ideal Foundation, which has been working with young people for six years.
Who we learn from
I
Bulgarian communities
From the Ohrid Literary School to the chitalishta: communities that began with a handful of people and outlived their founders.
II
Communities around the world
Communities that have lasted for generations because they keep clear goals and a steady routine, and pass their experience on to those who follow.
III
Clubs today
The student clubs that work in Bulgaria today. Their lesson is simple: members must create, not just listen.

Opening night: “The Path of Obshtnost S Ideal”
The club's first lecture. We talked about our community, our ideals, and what we have done and plan to do. As a brand-new club we expected far fewer people and were pleasantly surprised.
